Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) a non-profit interfaith coalition of sixty congregations serving seniors in Ocean County since 1993. CVCJ is committed to enabling the frail and elderly to remain living independently in their home. The service is FREE and there is no income eligibility. Volunteers provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping (they shop for you); make reassuring phone calls, friendly and pet visits; and respite care for families caring for loved ones with chronic illness, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. St. Joseph’s was the impetus behind the establishment of the ministry as CVCJ evolved from our Project HEAL. Our parishioner volunteers have given countless hours of their time to help others and can use your support for a few minutes or few hours a month.
